Let’s be honest—South Jersey isn’t exactly overflowing with splash pads (I mean, I think we can count them on one hand… maybe two if we’re generous and include the spray pools). So if you don’t have a backyard pool or a swim club membership, cooling off in the summer can feel like a full-on parenting puzzle.
But don’t sweat it—literally. We've got you covered with a brand-new Cool-Off Guide that rounds up all the places you can go without needing a membership!
We’re talking:
- Splash pads
- Indoor and outdoor pool clubs (no membership required!)
- Amusement centers with water play options
It’s your one-stop cheat sheet to staying cool without melting into a puddle of “Mommmm, I’m hot.”
This guide is a collab with Mom Adventures of NJ and Beyond—we put our mom-brains together to bring you the best ways to beat the heat this summer in South Jersey. 🏊 Pool Clubs + Public Pools ▾
Pool clubs are a summer staple for many South Jersey families—almost every town has one. But let’s be real… not every family can swing the steep membership fees, especially if you’re not planning to be there every single day like it's your second home.
If you're a local resident and live nearby, the membership can be a decent deal—especially if you're using it often. But unless you're clocking in like it's your summer job, it might not be worth the splurge.
Now, day passes? Total lifesaver if you're only planning to dip your toes in a few times over the summer. But those per-person day pass fees add up real quick. Suddenly you're spending $150 to sweat by the pool and hand out Gogurts.
Below you'll find pool clubs/pools offering day passes, sorted by price—from the most budget-friendly to the ones that might make your wallet side-eye you.

Soupy Island — West Deptford (FREE)⌄
📍 1718 Front Street, West Deptford
Okay, so Soupy Island isn’t technically a pool club… but they do have two pools, so we’re sliding them into this category anyway. And honestly? It’s hands-down the cheapest option for South Jersey families this summer—because it’s completely FREE. Yep, you read that right.
The catch? There’s an age restriction—so definitely double-check before packing up your crew. But if you’ve got kiddos who meet the age criteria, it’s a no-brainer.
It’s fun, it’s free, and it’s got water—what more could you ask for? They open to the public starting July 8 until August 14 and are open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.

($) Willingboro Country Club Pool — Willingboro⌄
📍 440 Beverly Rancocas Road, Willingboro
Willingboro Country Club takes the crown for the most affordable pool day pass around—just $5 per person or $35 for a 7-day pass for non-residents! Total win if you're looking for a low-cost way to cool off without draining your wallet.
BUT—don’t get caught out there with no cash. This spot is cash only, so leave the Apple Pay and card swipes at home and hit the ATM before you go.
They’ll be open daily from June 28 through September 1, and while you can grab your daily passes at the pool, you’ll need to head to the Willingboro website if you want to snag that 7-day deal in advance. Budget-friendly and splash-approved! 💦💸
($) The Kroc Center — Camden⌄
📍 1865 Harrison Avenue, Camden
The Kroc Center in Camden is kind of a perfect mash-up between a swim club and an indoor water park, so even though it’s technically not a pool club, we’re rolling with it and adding it to the list—because it’s just that good.
Inside, you’ll find a super kid-friendly indoor water park that’s especially great for younger kiddos, though there’s definitely fun to be had for older ones too. Think warm water, gentle slides, splashy features—perfect for littles who aren’t quite ready for the big water parks yet.
Best part? You don’t need a membership! They offer day passes for just $15/person, making it an affordable and easy way to swim and play indoors—no sunscreen required! 🏊♀️💦🌈
Water Park Hours:
- Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM (open swim)
- Saturday: 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM (open swim)
($$) Flying W Airport & Resort — Medford⌄
The Flying W in Medford isn’t your typical pool day. For starters, the pool is shaped like an actual airplane—because why not? And as if that’s not cool enough, it’s right next to a real landing strip, so you can float and watch planes take off and land. Basically, it’s like swimming with a live-action Discovery Channel backdrop.
And for your little aviation enthusiasts, there’s a newly renovated playground that features the cutest helicopter play structure—perfect for piloting some high-energy fun after a swim.
Day passes are $20 per person ages 3 and up, but kids 2 and under fly free. ✈️ Definitely a unique spot to cool off with some built-in entertainment!
($$$) JCC Swim Club — Medford⌄
JCC Camps are a great option if you’re looking to keep the kids busy while you’re working—or just need a little breather, no judgment here. But here’s something not everyone knows: they also have a Swim Club Membership and offer Community Guest Rates, so you don’t have to be a member to enjoy the pool!
Day passes for non-members are $15 per child and $35 per adult—so yeah, it’s still a splurge, but at least your little humans get the discounted rate. Every bit counts when you're trying to cool off without melting your budget. 💦🩱
Their Summer 2025 Schedule is:
- Saturday, June 14 through Labor Day, September 1
- Open Saturdays and Sundays, 12 PM - 6 PM
- Also open Friday, July 4 and Monday, September 1, Labor Day
($$$) Robert’s Pool — Collingswood⌄
📍 215 Hillcrest Ave, Collingswood
Robert’s Pool in Collingswood is a solid go-to for summer swimming. It’s not the kind of place with water slides or lazy rivers—but it’s clean, well-kept, and perfect for a refreshing dip when the temps start climbing. Basically, it gets the job done and does it well!
Day passes can be a bit of a splurge at $30 per person for non-residents, cash only, but if you’re a Collingswood resident, you score a 50% discount and only pay $15 per person—which makes a spontaneous pool day much more doable.
They open daily starting June 23, just in time for peak summer heat. So if you’re looking for a reliable place to splash and play, Robert’s Pool is a great local option — assuming you're not bringing more than two people.
Hours:
Monday - Saturday: 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM
Sunday: 11:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Starting August 15, the pool will close 1 hour earlier than the times listed above.
($$$$) Crystal Lake Pool — Haddon Township⌄
📍 W Crystal Lake Ave, Haddon Township / W Park Ave
Crystal Lake Pool definitely takes the top spot when it comes to most expensive day passes—but hey, if it’s in your budget, more power to ya! I’m just here doing my mom-duty and sharing the info.
For non-residents, it’s $35 per person, cash only—so again, hit that ATM. If you’re lucky enough to be a resident, you’ll only pay $17 per person per day, which is still a bit of a splurge but definitely more manageable.
Starting June 19, they’re open daily:
🕛 Weekdays: 12 PM – 8 PM
🕙 Weekends: 10 AM – 8 PM
So if you're planning a pool day at Crystal Lake, just know it’s more of a treat-yourself kind of outing.
🏊♀️ Swim Schools with Open Swim ▾
Swim schools might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you're trying to beat the heat—mostly because they’re indoors. But hey, swimming is swimming, and air-conditioned inside and warm water still counts!
Some swim schools in South Jersey offer open swim hours that are open to the public—not just their students or members. So if you’re looking for an easy, weatherproof way to cool off, these spots are worth checking out!
